Former UNP Minister P. Dayaratne has officially returned the government-owned residence he occupied for 45 years, handing it over to the Ampara District Secretary on October 31.
The residence, situated on Deegamini Mawatha, had served as Mr. Dayaratne’s official quarters throughout his tenure in public office. Mr. Dayaratne represented the UNP in Parliament from 1977 to 1989, during which time he utilized this government accommodation.
