The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has ordered the release on bail of former SriLankan Airlines Chairman Nishantha Wickramasinghe, who was previously arrested and remanded by the Bribery Commission on charges related to corruption.
The order was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali Jayatunga following a review of the submissions made by both the Bribery Commission and the defense counsel.
As part of the bail conditions, the Magistrate ordered Wickramasinghe to be released on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000, along with three sureties amounting to Rs. 5 million each. Additionally, a travel ban has been imposed on the suspect.
