Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has reportedly left Sri Lanka for Singapore to receive medical treatment.
He departed the island yesterday and is scheduled to be hospitalized on Wednesday, March 18. The former President is expected to remain in the hospital for two to three weeks.
Meanwhile, the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has filed a case against Wickremesinghe, accusing him of misusing public funds amounting to Rs. 1.69 billion to attend his wife’s graduation ceremony. The next hearing in this case is scheduled for April 29.
