Former MP Namal Rajapaksa arrived at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) this morning, around 9 AM, in response to a summons to provide a statement.
When asked about the reason for his sudden appearance at the CID, Rajapaksa responded, “I’m not sure. I’ll have to find out once I’m inside.”
Pressed further on whether he knew the specifics of the case, he added, “I’m unaware of the exact matter. However, it’s good that I’ve been summoned. The only way to clear the allegations against us is to face the inquiries directly. There are individuals who have deliberately spread falsehoods, but we are not among them. We will provide a truthful statement.”
This development has raised questions about the purpose of the summons and the potential allegations Rajapaksa may be addressing.
