Former Minister Sarath Amunugama publicly questioned the possibility of choosing a president from among the 69% of rejected candidates: a defunct Legislative Council, highlighting the country’s political landscape!   VIDEO Latest Sri Lanka News

Former minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama questioned whether a country’s president can be elected from a hung parliament that has been rejected by the people.Latest News from Sri Lanka

He pointed out that not even a president but a’scavenger’ could be elected in such a manner, which is absurd.
He stated that the Legislative Assembly is currently powerless to act.

Mr. Amunugama made the remark at the launch of Mr. Austin Fernando’s book, which was attended by many dignitaries, including former presidents and prime ministers.
