Iranian media have reported that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who served as Iran’s president from 2005 to 2013, has been killed in an attack allegedly carried out by the United States and Israel.

According to reports, the attack targeted Ahmadinejad’s official residence located in the Narnak area of northeast Tehran.

Iranian media outlets have confirmed that the former president and several members of his security detail were killed in the strike, foreign media sources stated.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad previously served as the governor of Ardabil Province and as the mayor of Tehran before assuming the presidency.

Following the conclusion of his presidential term, he was appointed to the Expediency Discernment Council by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Ahmadinejad’s death, regarded as the loss of another influential figure in Iranian politics after the Supreme Leader, is being viewed as a significant blow to the Iranian regime.
