The airport customs has started from yesterday (23rd) night to conduct strict screening of all VIPs and their luggage coming through the airport’s VIP Terminals (VIP).

Accordingly, all politicians, diplomats and other dignitaries leaving and arriving at the airport through the VIP terminals will henceforth be subjected to strict checks by airport customs officers.

As soon as these inspections were started, the customs officers managed to seize a load of electrical equipment brought by an elite person who came through the VIP terminal last night (23rd) in an illegal manner.

After the arrest of Member of Parliament Alisabry Rahim while carrying a stock of gold and mobile phones worth 8 crore rupees, the customs authorities have taken the decision to check the VIPs coming through these VIP terminals.

The airport customs authorities say that for a long time, elite people may have brought a huge amount of prohibited goods into the country through this elite terminal.

They say that they believe that gold, gems, money and even drugs have been brought into the country through these elite terminals.

The airport customs authorities say that they have received orders from the customs headquarters to carry out random screening of VIPs entering and leaving these VIP terminals from now on.
