Five arrested for southern ATM machine heist, including a police station OIC.

The police have arrested 5 suspects, including a police officer and two foreigners, in connection with the theft of more than one crore rupees from ATM machines in the southern province.

It has been revealed that the two foreigners who have been arrested are Bulgarian nationals and one has Canadian citizenship.

The two suspected foreigners were arrested by the Computer Crime Division of the Criminal Investigation Department while they were staying at a luxury apartment complex in Colombo.

Among those suspects is the station commander of the control division of the Meghathanna Police.

The suspect police officer was arrested in Amugoda area of Pitigala police domain.

The other two suspects were arrested in the Elpitiya and Negombo areas.
