The Excise Department has issued a final notice to alcohol producers to settle outstanding tax arrears by the 30th of this month. According to the department, nearly 10 companies owe a total of 8.5 billion rupees in unpaid taxes from previous tax periods.
The department has further stated that it is prepared to initiate legal action against these companies if the overdue payments are not cleared within the stipulated timeframe.
