Evening showers after 15th Met. dept. predicts  I Sri Lanka Latest News

Meryl Mendes, Deputy Director of the Meteorological Department, said that after the 15th, rains can be expected in almost all of Sri Lanka in the evening. Sri Lanka Latest News

He also said that the places where heavy rain falls may vary depending on the area.

He said that although the situation of heavy rain in the southern province has decreased, the northern, central and eastern provinces can expect thunderstorms today (09) and tomorrow (10).

He also said that the rain situation may develop in almost all of Sri Lanka in the coming days. The deputy director also said that although the rain situation will end in two hours, there may be heavy rain of 100 mm within an hour.

According to the Department of Meteorology, there is an atmospheric condition favorable for the occurrence of thundershowers in the evening in the eastern, central, north-central and northern provinces today.

Eastern, Uva, Central, Northern and North-Central provinces and Kurunegala district will experience scattered rain or thundershowers in the evening or night.

In some places mm. Highs above 75 and showers possible.

Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and Puttalam district will experience several rainy seasons.

The Department of Meteorology has informed the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
