The OIC of the Ethimale Police has been arrested by the CID, in connection with the incident in which Moneragala SSP Sisira Kumara was arrested by the STF recently with over 600 Ganja plants at his official residence.
Earlier this week, the STF has arrested Moneragala SSP, two police constables and three civilians with cannabis plants on the SSP’s official residence in Moneragala.
Later, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has taken over the investigation into the incident.
The Court had allowed the CID on Tuesday to detain the six suspects including the SSP for further investigations.
Accordingly, the OIC of the Ethimale Police was arrested today
