Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody has lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) requesting an inquiry into individuals spreading false claims regarding his educational qualifications.
Minister Jayakody emphasized that these allegations are causing significant harm to both his personal reputation and the image of the government.
In response to the accusations, the Minister presented his degree certificate from the University of Peradeniya to the media earlier today.
Over the past few days, various reports circulating on social media have claimed that Minister Jayakody had not completed his engineering degree, a claim he has categorically denied.
