Blatant violation of Election Law by Ranil reported at the youth gathering: EC stops providing meals: complaints lodged to police I Sri Lanka Latest News

It is reported that the election rules were violated in the youth meeting held yesterday (30) of the Maharagama National Youth Service Council. Sri Lanka Latest News

It is said that young people from youth clubs across the country were invited to this meeting which was named as ‘National Youth Conference’. Along with that, it is said that the officers of the National Youth Service Council were also called.

The election officials had also suspended the release of the lunch that had been prepared to be given to the people who came.

It is said that a president and a secretary of a youth club of the National Youth Service Council have violated the election rules in the meeting chaired by the presidential candidate Ranil Wickramasinghe. The Colombo District Election Dispute Resolution Center states that performance was also presented by the National Youth Service Council’s dance group for this meeting.

It is said that the Maharagama police will take legal action against the violation of election laws by the meeting attended by UNP leader and presidential candidate Ranil Wickramasinghe.

It is reported from some places that it was planned to invite the graduates who are being trained in the training centres of the National Youth Service Council all over the country to this meeting where Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe even made a speech as the President. Buses, food and even bottles of drinking water had been prepared to bring the trainees, but it is said that it was stopped after the information was disclosed to the election office.
