Many of these people are abroad to meet relatives and look after their children’s education.
Several MPs who went abroad returned to the island in recent days.
Meanwhile, the Members Services Division stated that the rooms of Senpati Nivesa MP Bungalow in Nuwara Eliya have been booked by the MPs from the 14th of this month to the 1st of January.
Parliament officials also point out that nearly a hundred MPs have reserved that bungalow within this period.
After the final vote on the budget was held on the 13th, the speaker adjourned the parliament until the 9th of next January. Thus, all the MPs have got a vacation for almost a month.
