DS’s grandson-UNP former president Rukman Senanayake passes away! I Sri Lanka Latest News

Former Minister Rukman Senanayake, a grandson of the first Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Mr. D.S Senanayake, and a senior member of the United National Party, has passed away. Sri Lanka Latest News

Relatives of the family said that Mr Senanayake passed away this morning (24) at his home in Borella.

Born on 21st June 1948, Mr. Rukman Senanayake was 76 years old when he passed away.

Mr. Rukman Senanayake, who was elected to Parliament for the first time in 1973 representing the United National Party, was represented in Parliament from time to time until 2004.

He also held the position of Minister of Environment in the United National Party government, and in 2007 he was appointed as the President of the United National Party.
