Foreign media report that several data centers belonging to Amazon, the world’s leading cloud services provider, have been targeted in drone attacks amid the ongoing military situation in the Middle East.

According to reports, two data centers in the United Arab Emirates have sustained damage, while another facility in Bahrain has also been affected.

The incident has reportedly disrupted numerous banking operations, as well as the functioning of several websites and mobile phone applications across the Middle East region.

Buildings at the targeted sites have suffered damage, and data processing activities are said to have come to a halt due to failures in electrical systems.

The company has further stated that certain technical equipment was damaged by water following the activation of fire extinguishing systems.

In response to the current situation, Amazon has instructed institutions in the Middle East that rely on its services to immediately transfer their data to servers located in safer regions, including Europe and the United States.

Reports indicate that digital transaction systems of several major banks in the emirate have already been disabled, causing severe disruptions.

The incident is being described as one of the first known cases of a military attack targeting the data infrastructure of a major technology company.

Foreign media further note that the event has raised serious concerns regarding the digital stability of the region.
