Three persons have been arrested for stealing people’s property by travelling as passengers and drivers of tricycles. Sri Lanka Latest News

Police Media Spokesman and Attorney at Law Mr. Nihal Talduwa said that Grandpass Police have arrested the suspects.

“When those suspects were travelling in the three-wheeler, they could be the driver of the three-wheeler or the passengers accompanying the suspects. The suspect is friendly with the people who are travelling and somehow gives them something to drink on the way. After drinking it, some kind of unconsciousness comes. After that, these suspects kidnap some valuable money and gold. The other day, a person fainted and fell in the Grandpass area. Later this person was hospitalized and this was discovered during the investigation. Accordingly, the suspects were found.” said Police Media Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Advocate Mr Nihal Talduwa.

One of the persons arrested is Sellaiya Chandramohan alias Mohan, a 44-year-old resident of Hatton area; the other person is a 33-year-old resident of Tihari area, Gauwsur Amir Mohammad.

The other suspect is Abdul Satsar Mohammad Dilshan alias Dilshan, a 33-year-old man.

These thieves have committed crimes like this in various parts of the island. Complaints have been received at police stations in Ruwanwella, Wellavithiya, Maharagama, Hanwella, Gampaha, Byagama, Wayangoda, and Welimada.

Meanwhile, Police Media Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Advocate Nihal Talduwa said, “On 07.12.2020, an 80-year-old person has gone missing in Welimada area. And on 27.10.2021, a 42-year-old man has disappeared from such an incident. So far it has not been possible to find them. The police suspect these suspects in that regard.” Namely.
