Due to recent heavy rains, the Hal Oya in the Dodampagala area of Uva Paranagama overflowed, causing part of the bridge leading to the village to collapse and damaging the road.
As a result, residents of Dodampagala village were unable to use vehicles to access the area.
With the rains subsiding, the villagers came together and repaired the road themselves, making it suitable for traffic without waiting for government assistance.
The residents emphasized that, at times like these, it is crucial for people to contribute to rebuilding the country and work collectively.
At a time when the entire nation is facing challenges, the initiative taken by the people of Dodampagala serves as a remarkable example of community effort, demonstrating how citizens can take action to restore their surroundings without relying solely on government intervention.
