The 137 seat organizers of the Samagi Jana Balavegay have given notice to the party’s leader, Mr. Sajith Premadasa, not to join the current government under any circumstances and not to take up ministerial positions.

During a zoom discussion with the opposition leader today, (21) the seat organizers informed him of this.

At the start of the Zoom discussion, the opposition leader explained to the gatering how he was ready to run for the presidency, and what made him change his mind and give Mr. Dallas Alahapperuma the candidacy, which was a party decision.

According to the opposition leader, Mr. Dallas Alahapperuma was given the candidacy based on party decision, and because many Pohottuwa MPs did not vote for him, he was defeated.

He denied reports that SJB MPs had voted for Mr. Wickramasinghe and stated that no SJB MP had voted for him.

However, the leader of the opposition has stated that this is not a defeat and that the opposition has grown from 50 to 80 MPs, demonstrating the formation of a strong opposition.Later, the opposition leader explained what happened at the party leaders’ meeting held after Mr. Wickramasinghe was sworn in today.
