Parliament Secretariat has confirmed today that dignitaries from forty-six countries will be attending the oath-taking ceremony of President-Elect Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

The Presidential Inauguration is scheduled to be held at 4.30 pm on November 17 at the Republic Square.

Parliament Secretariat has appointed the Maldives National Defence Force’s Sifainge Welfare Company (SIWEC) to get the venue ready for the event. SIWEC is currently in the process of finalizing arrangements.

Parliament Secretariat’s Director of Communications Hassan Ziyau stated that the highest-ranking State Official confirmed to attend the inauguration is Sri Lanka’s President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who will be arriving in Maldives tonight.

Some Presidents, Prime Ministers and Kings have appointed special representatives to attend the inauguration. The Parliament Secretariat informed that this includes China, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Korea and Turkey.

Other attendees include cabinet ministers and delegations.

Ziyau said that representatives from international organizations like the UN, OIC, SAARC, World Bank and IDB will also attend the function.

It has also previously been announced that one thousand members of the public will be able to attend the ceremony.
