State Minister Diana Gamage, who was admitted to the Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital after being assaulted by Sajaba Kegalle District Member of Parliament Sujith Sanjay Perera in the Parliament premises, is said to have left the hospital after about 03 hours. (Sri Lanka Latest News)
Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena had taken steps yesterday (20) to appoint a committee headed by the Deputy Speaker to investigate the incident.
The Speaker informed yesterday that a committee consisting of Chamal Rajapaksa, Ramesh Pathirana, Gayantha Karunathilake and Imtiaz Bakir Markar was appointed to investigate the complaints received from both parties and submit a quick report.
