Mr. Premanath C Dolawatta, Member of Parliament of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, states that prostitution should be legalized in Sri Lanka.
Speaking in the budget committee debate, he said that the rights of sex workers in this country can be protected only if prostitution is enacted.
Therefore, he said in the parliament that legislation should be made to legalize prostitution.
He further mentioned that although it is important to protect the rights of transgender people, the time has come for Sri Lanka to embark on social reforms.
