The Court of Appeal decided today to hear the fundamental rights petition filed by attorney at law Mr. Asil Faris requesting the abolition of the position of State Minister Diana Gamage as a Member of Parliament due to her holding British citizenship.
Accordingly, the Court of Appeal issued a notice to state the matter in court on December 12th and to state minister Diana Gamage to appear before the court.
Minister Diana Gamage is also ordered to present all documents regarding British citizenship to the Court of Appeal on that day.
