Prof. G. L Peris said that the 53rd session will begin in Geneva and the country will be disadvantaged due to the suppression of the media by the sri Lankan government .
He made this observation addressing a media briefing held yesterday. He also showed a hard draft copy of the proposed bill to the media.
He pointed out that it is clear from his statements that the President has directly contributed to the suppression of the media, and he strongly rejects the statement that this draft is not a bill and that it is a series of proposals as stated by the ministers of the government.
