Yesterday afternoon, protesters came to the private residence of the Tamil Congress Member of Parliament Mr. Gajendra Ponnambalam located at Rajina Mawatha in Bambalapitiya.
The police had also obtained a court order not to protest there.
The police intervened and stopped the protestors about 20 meters away from the MP’s house and it was seen that the police, anti-riot unit, police special task force and Sri Lanka Air Force were called for its security.
After protesting for almost an hour, the group dispersed.
