Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage issued a summons to Western Province Senior DIG Deshbandu Tennakone. He is ordered to appear in court on February 16th at 1.30 pm in connection with an alleged criminal breach of trust by making a telephone call to the Fort Police Station OIC to hand over the amount of rupees one crore seventy eight lakh fifty thousand rupees found in the President’s official residence in Fort to the Minister of Public Security.
The magistrate issued this order after taking into consideration a personal complaint submitted before the Colombo Fort Magistrate regarding this incident.
