It was originally decided to hold the Sri Lanka Freedom Party anniversary conference on the 2nd of next month at Hettipola
But later that decision was suddenly changed and it was decided to hold the anniversary conference on the third of next month at Monarch Imperial Hotel, Sri Jayawardenepura.
It has been learned that the conference that was decided to be held in Hettipola was suddenly canceled and it was decided to be held in Colombo at the request of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party MPs who are also in the government.
In this regard, the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara, stated that he had no interest in holding the anniversary conference in Colombo, which was scheduled to be held in Hettipola.
The MP said that a committee headed by Mr. Shan Vijayalal de Silva has been appointed to organize the anniversary conference in Hettipola and said that the committee met and discussed on two occasions under the chairmanship of former President Maithripala Sirisena.
He said that he was surprised that the venue had been changed without any notification even though it had been decided to hold the event at Hettipola and invitations had been sent to the organizers. He said that this was done at the behest of the SLFP ministers who are in the government and said that they should first decide whether the government is in the opposition or the government.

Responding to a question about whether he will participate in the anniversary conference in Colombo, the MP said that he has not yet taken a decision on whether he will participate in it or not.
However, Mr. Maithripala Sirisena is currently known in politics as a politician who says one thing today and another tomorrow.
This could be clearly seen from some statements made by him in the past.
It is also known that this summit has been brought to Colombo according to the advice of Nimal Siripala and Mahinda Amaraweera who are in the government this time.
