The Colombo District Court issued an injunction preventing the implementation of a letter issued by the chairman of the party after seeking a letter of explanation from the former Secretary General of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Mr Dayasiri. Sri Lanka Latest News

After considering a complaint submitted by Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara, the Colombo District Judge Mr. Sandun Withana has issued the injunction to be effective until the 5th of October.

The lawyers who represented Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara had informed the court that a disciplinary inquiry would be conducted against their client and that party chairman Mr. Maithripala Sirisena had issued a letter on the 18th asking him to make an excuse.

Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara said that the president of the party has no authority under the Sri Lanka Freedom Party constitution to send a letter asking for such excuses.

After considering the facts presented, the Colombo District Judge issued this injunction.
