The official website of the Government Printing Department has fallen victim to a cyber attack, according to Nirosh Ananda, the Chief Information Security Officer of the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Forum (CERT|CC).
Ananda revealed that an unauthorized individual had gained access to the website and that it is currently being exploited by an external party. He assured that investigations into the breach are already underway to identify the perpetrators and mitigate further damage.
In a related incident, the Sri Lanka Police’s official YouTube channel has also been compromised in a cyber attack, raising concerns about the security of key digital platforms in the country.
Authorities are continuing their efforts to address these breaches and strengthen cybersecurity measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
