The extension of service given to Current Inspector General Mr.C. D.Wickramaratne is scheduled to end on the 26th. Sri Lanka Latest News

Although the Inspector General of Police was scheduled to retire on March 26, the President took steps to extend his service for three months.

However, it is reported that no final decision has been taken regarding the person appointed to the post of Inspector General.

As the President is on a foreign tour these days, it is said that he will take a final decision regarding the post of Inspector General after his return to the island.

The President’s recommendation for the post of Inspector General of Police should be approved by the Constitutional Council after being submitted to it.
