Cuba Suspends Fuel Supply to International Flights Amid US Pressure
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Cuban government has decided to suspend fuel supplies to international flights arriving in the country amid intense economic and political pressure imposed by the Trump administration. Sri Lanka Latest News

This decision follows an executive order signed by former US President Donald Trump, which imposes taxes on any country that supplies fuel to Cuba.

In addition, Cuba’s primary oil supply route has been disrupted following US military intervention in Venezuela that resulted in the removal of President Nicolas Maduro from power.

Reports indicate that Mexico, which had continued supplying oil to Cuba despite threats of US tariffs, has also taken steps to halt its fuel shipments.

Cuba is currently facing a severe humanitarian crisis, with power outages lasting between 15 and 20 hours daily, along with acute food shortages.

Against this backdrop, Mexico has moved to provide humanitarian assistance by dispatching two ships carrying more than 800 metric tons of essential food supplies to Cuba.
