Sri Lanka Test cricket captain Dhananjaya de Silva’s brother, Savithra de Silva, also known as Sangu, has been arrested by the Mount Lavinia Police.

The arrest is linked to an incident involving an assault on a group in Ratmalana. According to reports, Sangu had attacked an individual near his residence last night.

The assaulted individual is said to be closely associated with Kudu Anju and Alto Dharma, who are accused of murdering Dhananjaya de Silva’s father. Following the assault, the individual returned to the scene with Indika Suranga Zoysa, alias Ratmalane Sudda, and another group, and retaliated by attacking Savithra de Silva.

During the altercation, the police reported that Savithra was attacked with a sharp weapon by one of the individuals. Despite his injuries, he retreated to his house, armed himself with a sharp weapon, and retaliated by attacking Ratmalane Sudda and another person.

Both injured parties have been admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital for treatment. Subsequently, the police arrested all individuals involved, including Savithra de Silva, Ratmalane Sudda, and another injured party.

Currently, all three individuals remain in police custody and are receiving medical care at the Kalubowila Hospital.
