After a long time, there has been a death due to COVID-19 infection at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital. Sri Lanka Latest News

A PCR test conducted on suspicion of a patient who died while receiving treatment at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital revealed that the cause of death was infection with the COVID-19 virus.

Due to this, the patients and staff of the ward where the patient was treated should be quarantined and this is a serious issue that needs to be re-attentioned when the COVID-19 epidemic situation has been ignored, the hospital sources said.

It is said that at present, considering the situation of the COVID epidemic at a normal level, the dead bodies of patients who die are not cremated and handed over to their relatives and this is a risk situation for the covid virus to spread again in the country.
