The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today ordered the arrest and production of Shamindra Rajapaksa, son of former Minister Chamal Rajapaksa, and Priyanka Neomali Wijenayake, the wife of Kapila Chandrasena, who have been named as suspects in the alleged bribery incident related to the purchase of an Airbus aircraft.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama issued the warrants today after considering a prior request made by the Bribery Commission.

The Magistrate further ordered that this directive be communicated to all airports across Sri Lanka. He also instructed the Controller of Immigration and Emigration to arrest the suspects upon their arrival in the country and to notify the Bribery Commission accordingly.
