Consumer Affairs Authority Ensures Stable Pricing and Quality of Salt Amid Market Challenges
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) recently convened a discussion with salt manufacturing institutions at its head office to ensure that high-quality salt, essential for both industrial and food purposes, is made available in the market at a reasonable price.

The discussion focused on findings from the Authority’s price surveys, which analyzed market fluctuations in salt prices over the past period. Key concerns included the varying prices at which salt has been sold, seasonal shortages, and challenges faced by the industry.

Representatives from eighteen institutions, including government bodies and leading salt manufacturers, participated in the meeting. A major point of discussion was the importance of maintaining stable pricing to prevent inconvenience to consumers amid the current market situation.

With locally produced salt expected to enter the market soon, manufacturers expressed confidence that prices could remain highly competitive by the end of March. In response to the Authority’s request, they also agreed to keep prices stable, avoiding any further increases until then.
