Concerns Mount Over Chamuditha Samarawickrama’s Safety After Murders of Two Interviewees
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Several parties have raised serious concerns regarding the safety of journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrama following the murders of two individuals who had recently participated in controversial interviews with him.

In a recent incident, a public health inspector from Elpitiya was murdered by underworld elements. Notably, just days before his killing, he had made several controversial revelations while appearing on the program Truth with Chamuditha, hosted by Samarawickrama.

Similarly, another individual who was murdered last night in Middeniya had also made contentious statements during a media conference alongside Samarawickrama just days before his death. His killing occurred only a short time after those revelations were made public.

Amidst these developments, numerous groups, including Buddhist monks, have taken to social media, urging authorities to provide immediate security for Chamuditha Samarawickrama, citing a potential threat to his life.

Samarawickrama has previously faced multiple threats, prompting authorities to assign police protection to him on prior occasions. Given the latest incidents, concerns are growing over his safety, with calls for enhanced security measures.
