Colombo Magistrate’s Court Sentences Arjun Aloysius and Two Others to Six Months Imprisonment for VAT Evasion

In connection with a VAT evasion case, the Colombo Magistrate’s Court has sentenced three individuals, including Mr. Arjun Aloysius, director of Mendis Company, to six months of imprisonment.

The case was initiated by the Inland Revenue Department over the alleged misappropriation of 3.5 billion rupees in VAT owed to the government.
