The Sri Lanka Army has taken steps to grant permission for 07 temples located in the high-security zone around the Security Force Headquarters Jaffna to hold weekly pujas and worship. Accordingly Kaduwan Muttumari Amman Temple, Vasavilan Manampirai Temple, Vasavilan Shivam Temple, Vasavilan Naga Temple, Palali Raja Rajeshwari Temple, Palali Naga Thampilan Temple, Palali Shaktiveli Murugan Temple.
Civilians were allowed to perform weekly pujas in the temples.
Previously permission was given for monthly poojas and special poojas in those temples, but after considering the requests made by the temple trustees and civil organizations to allow weekly poojas, with the full intervention of the Security Forces Commander – Jaffna, Major General Vandana Wickramasinghe, this permission is being given to the civilians. was
However, although the Telippalai Divisional Secretariat had informed the Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna that 291 civilians would participate in the weekly puja that started last Friday (23), only 50 people participated. Also, they had visited only four temples namely Kadduan Muttumari Amman Temple, Vasavilan Manampirai Temple, Vasavilan Shivam Temple and Vasavilan Naga Temple.
The Sri Lanka Army provided all the necessary health, transportation and sanitation facilities for the people who gathered for the sacrifices and the Divisional Secretary Thelippalai was also present on this occasion.
