As a matter of urgency, the CID  officers who are conducting investigations related to the importation of medicines to Sri Lanka under the Indian loan scheme have started investigations regarding the fact that the cabinet memos seized from the ministerial office of the former health minister Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella did not contain any work notes.Sri Lanka Latest News

The CID officers who were surprised that there was no action note in the files containing the cabinet memos related to the minor drug transaction have been used in the usual manner in the files containing the cabinet memos that were taken into the custody of the secret police from Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella’s office.

Sources of the CID state that there is no work record in the files containing the cabinet memos dated May 30, 2022, September 27, 2022, October 25, 2022 and December 5, 2022, which were found in the ministerial office of former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

According to an order given by Maligakanda Magistrate Ms. Lochani Abewickrama to Ministry Secretary Mr. Saman Ratnayake to hand over the files containing cabinet memos in the State Ministry of Health to the Secret Police in response to a request made by the Deputy Solicitor General Miss Lakmini Girihagama who appeared for the case when the complaint related to this incident was called in the court earlier. Cabinet memos have been handed over to the Secret Police.

Since it was revealed that the cabinet memos handed over in this way did not contain any working notes, the CID has started investigations in this regard as well. –
