The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has initiated a probe into the disappearance of a case file linked to an ongoing matter at the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court.
The missing file pertains to a case involving a woman who was the victim of an acid attack. As part of the investigation, the CID has questioned several court officials in connection with the file’s disappearance.
The inquiry was launched following a notification from the Nugegoda Magistrate to the Judicial Services Commission. Preliminary findings suggest that the file, which had been taken by an official for specific purposes, went missing thereafter.
