The wife of former State Intelligence Service Director Suresh Saleh, Ms. Manori Saleh, states that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has admitted that former SIS Director Suresh Saleh was stripped naked and subjected to a search while in custody. Sri Lanka Latest News
Speaking to the media today (17), she further stated that Mr. Suresh Saleh’s health condition has now reached a critical level.
Question – How is his health condition now?
“Suresh continues to neither eat nor drink. He does not break his fast. His health is deteriorating day by day and he is becoming increasingly unwell. It is a little difficult to speak. He cannot sit still for long. That is because now his hands are all swollen due to that cannula, so they are removing them and now they are giving him one and giving him fluids little by little. That is how the doctors are somehow keeping him alive.”
She also responded to questions regarding the involvement of CID officers and alleged treatment during custody.
Question – Then we saw that yesterday the officers of the C. C. I. D. had been called. You had been called. What happened then? What torture had been done?
“Yes. We had spoken yesterday. Both of us. The C. I. D. could not come last time. This time I came. So. For the first time they accepted Suresh as they had told them. They took him out of the cell, stripped him naked. They said they had done one thing. Everyone was in front. So they did not accept it for so long. So now they are saying that they did it. They accepted it.”
