Chinease ‘spy’ following Dalai Laama was detained in Bodh Gaya….

Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama on Saturday said that China’s efforts to eliminate Buddhism will not succeed. He was speaking on the last day of the teaching program at Kalachakra Maidan in Bodh Gaya.

Dalai Lama had accused China of considering Buddhism poisonous and of carrying out a systematic campaign to destroy and weed it out from China, by destroying its institutions. He further said that they have failed in doing so.

“We have strong faith in Buddha dharma, when I visit trans-Himalayan regions, I find local people very devoted to dharma and it is the case in Mongolia and in China too though the system sees dharma as poison and tried to destroy it, but they are not successful. Buddhism was harmed by the Chinese government. Buddhism could not be destroyed from China,” Dalai Lama was quoted by ANI.

Recently, a Chinese ‘spy’ was detained for allegedly following and posing a threat to Dalai Lama in Bodh Gaya. Chinese national Song Xialolan, 50, arrived in Delhi on December 20 from Dharamsala later she proceeded to Bodh Gaya to spy on his activities. According to police, the ‘spy’ got stuck in India during the pandemic.

Even after China destroyed many Buddhist monasteries, the number of people believing in Buddhism in the country has not come down, he said.

Many Buddhist monasteries are still in China and there are people who are attached to it. Chinese have an ancient relationship with Buddhism, he added.

Over 80,000 Buddhist devotees, Sri Lankan Buddhist monks, attended the event. Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu also attended the Bodh Gaya event.
