Indian media reported that this year, India has surpassed China to become the main bilateral lender to Sri Lanka.
India’s total credit to Sri Lanka at the end of the first four months of this year is US$ 968 million.
Indian media pointed out that China, which has a dangerous lending policy, managed to become the main bilateral creditor who has continuously given loans to Sri Lanka in the 5-year period from 2017 to 2021.
