The CID Director has been summoned to the House of Representatives in relation to an alleged incidence of phone tapping.
On the 18th, the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department will testify before the Parliamentary Committee on Ethics and Privileges.
It pertains to an investigation into a complaint filed by Member of Parliament Patali Champika, in which he claimed that his phone was tapped.
Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, the chairman, stated that the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department will be brought before the Parliamentary Committee on Ethics and Privileges for violating the privileges of MPs.
