Member of Parliament, Mr. Chandima Weerakkodi has been appointed as the new president of the Sri Lanka-United States Parliamentary Friendship Association.
Mr. Veerakkodi was elected for this position during the appointment of the related new officials in the Ninth Parliament.
Mrs. Julie Chang, the American Ambassador to Sri Lanka, also attended this event.
