Veteran journalist Mr. Chandana Suriyabandara has been appointed as the Presidential Media Advisor (Media), while Mr. Anuruddha Lokuhapuarachchi has been appointed as the Director of International Media and Strategic Communications in the Presidential Media Division.
The official letters of appointment were presented to them by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, at the Presidential Secretariat this afternoon (24).
Mr. Chandana Suriyabandara is a highly respected figure in Sri Lanka’s media industry, with over 30 years of experience. He has made a significant impact as a journalist and writer, earning recognition for his outstanding communication skills and deep expertise in the media field.
Meanwhile, Mr. Anuruddha Lokuhapuarachchi, a veteran in media photography, has made a profound contribution to the local media landscape. Having worked with the international news agency Reuters for nearly two decades, he played a pivotal role in introducing digital photography to Sri Lankan journalism. He is also an honors graduate in photography and digital photography.
These key appointments mark a new chapter in the Presidential Media Division, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening media relations and strategic communications at both national and international levels.
