Just three days after assuming duties as the Opposition Leader, Specialist Dr. Chamal Sanjeewa has taken decisive action by handing over all documents related to past corruption incidents within the Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
According to reports, the submitted documents contain substantial information implicating certain newly elected MPs in corrupt activities.
Mr. Sanjeewa also criticized the governing authority of the council—the National People’s Power—for its inactive stance on addressing corruption. He emphasized that this lack of action is evident from the questionable dealings some MPs appear to have with the ruling faction.
