As the world embraces rapid digitalization, Colombo eagerly anticipates hosting a groundbreaking conference titled “Digital Public Infrastructure: Enable | Empower | Enrich” at the prestigious Grand Marquee, Taj Samudra, on March 26, 2024.

This significant event, co-convened by the High Commission of India in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and the Ministry of Technology, Government of Sri Lanka, promises to be a pivotal moment in redefining digital governance and innovation in the region.

At the heart of the conference lies a focus on exploring the transformative power of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). This infrastructure seeks to facilitate seamless service delivery, promote community inclusivity, and stimulate economic development through innovation. Inspired by the G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration, DPI embodies a suite of interconnected digital systems, underpinned by open technologies, designed to provide equitable access to public and private services at scale.

Esteemed speakers and panelists from diverse backgrounds, including government officials, industry leaders, academia, and entrepreneurs, will converge to share insights and experiences, drawing from India’s DPI journey while offering global and regional perspectives.

The conference agenda is rich and diverse, featuring sessions on accelerating digital adoption in Sri Lanka, unlocking opportunities for startups within the digital ecosystem, and fostering collaborations across stakeholders for sustainable development. Attendees can expect dynamic keynote addresses, interactive panel discussions, and engaging Q&A sessions, providing unparalleled opportunities for knowledge exchange and networking.

Highlighting the significance of the conference will be keynote addresses from eminent speakers, including His Excellency the President, Honorable Ranil Wickremesinghe, emphasizing the crucial role of digital infrastructure in shaping the nation’s future trajectory. Furthermore, Dr. Pramod Varma, Co-Chair of the Centre for Digital Public Infrastructure (CDPI) and former Chief Architect of UIDAI, will deliver an illuminating presentation on DPI and India Stack, showcasing India’s pioneering initiatives in this domain.

Augmenting the discourse, Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, Group Executive Director and CEO of Telecommunication Business for Axiata Group, will provide valuable insights into unlocking the digital ecosystem, highlighting the indispensable role of telecommunications in advancing digital infrastructure.

With its distinguished lineup of speakers and thought leaders, the conference promises to serve as a platform for driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and guiding Sri Lanka towards a digitally inclusive future.

“We are thrilled to host this momentous event, bringing together stakeholders from diverse sectors to explore innovative solutions for leveraging digital technologies in public service delivery and economic development,” remarked a spokesperson from the High Commission of India in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
