Can a few officials and a minister deny people their right to vote? How did the cabinet create the priority list? Will it jeopardize national security if the army is not paid because there is no money? Professor Charitha Herath -VIDEO

We assumed that the Supreme Court’s direction last week meant that this country’s election activities were moving forward actively. We carry out our activities in that spirit, but we notice that the government fraction, the president’s fraction, the cabinet of ministers, and other government bodies comprising the Elephent – bud political mechanism are heavily involved in this election.

When the election is so close, their opposition shows how worried they are about the elections. All other parties get involved with the masses, and this Elephent – bud team, fearing that they will expose the lack of mandate, strongly opposes the election, according to Professor Charitha Hearth.

This is an election that anyone can run in. However, the local government elections are being held at a critical juncture in the country’s history. A president who took office with a massive mandate two and a half years ago had to leave and go… Politically, there is a disparity in the mandate of the interim president, who was elected through parliamentary arithmetic.

People came first before the election for us during the Covid 19 period. However, the government had a mandate at the time, but now that there is an interim president with a distorted mandate, delaying the action of testing the popular mandate is a serious issue.
