The vote on the second reading of the budget for the year 2024 was held in Parliament this afternoon (21).Sri Lanka Latest News
There were 122 votes in favor of the budget and 77 votes against.
Accordingly, the speaker informed the parliament that the second reading of the budget for the year 2024 was passed.
President Ranil Wickramasinghe, as the Minister of Finance, presented the budget for the next year to Parliament on 13th November last.
The debate on the third reading of the budget is scheduled to be held from tomorrow (22) to December 13.
However, Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa voted in favor of the budget and Mr. Chamal Rajapaksa and Mr. Namal Rajapaksa were not present at the time of voting.
